Hi everyone,
I live in the South Florida area and I need to find a job as a driver, I resently obtained the CDL class A drivers license and unfortunately for me, I DO NOT HAVE PREVIOUS TRUCKING EXPERIENCE.
I wanted to say that before posting all other things about me since I understand no experiense has a huge negative connotation.
I have clean MVR, no tickets of any kind.
I don't have previous fellonies as well as no DUIs
I have decent physical condition.
I'm able to follow directions
I take pride on my work
I understand customer service as a priority, that include the load's delivery time.
I can drive OTR with no time limitations in general.
I will need training, for that I can tell you, I'm a normal person, not a wierdo, I'm clean not a smoker, I respect others and expect respect back, I don't care about people's background or skin color.
I don't think I can ask for top pay but no slavery either.
In general I consier myself as a good business associate.
## #### ( I felt I had to say that)
Although I just singed in I have been following this forums for a few months, reading on the ins and out of the industry, the bads and the goods of the big companies that's why I desided to try this and keep the hope that I may find myself with the right trucker or truck company.
Thanks for your time.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

So are you looking for a O/O to hire you?Have you try calling companies? Not all training companies are bad i'm sure there co hiring in your area.
-
No, I haven't called any Co., I just got my CDL yesterday and this morning the first thought was to jump on the computer and come here to do some research about the hiring process and I thought it would be a good idea to start with vehicle owners, that been O/O who got their authority or independent contractors.
Since a lot of my previous reading has been mainly about schools and the big corps reputation, I'm planning start calling some corps. next. I have to admit, I'm a bit phone shy but I have to prepare for that too.
Also, as I learn here in Trucker's report, paying a visit to a truck stop, I have one close by, I think, is not a bad idea, since I could get to ask questions and maybe some advice. I'll what's nex, thanks for replaying. -
I see your in FL try CCC CT and CTL trucking, they are Florida base companies with terminals in Florida and they hire newb's.
-
Did you go thru a school to get your CDL?
-
No, I didn't. I went through a third party, we did trained back up parking and I did good on the final test with a 40' conbination vehicle.
-
Ok, thanks. I got CCC Transportation LLC, I went to their website and they hire depending on demand, I'll give them a call tomorrow. CT is Covenant Transport?
CTL Transport LLC, they are tank and the website doesn't talk about experience, wether they wanted it or not, I'll give them a try who knows, the tank endorsement shouldn't be that dificult but it may be Hazmat, I'll see. -
That's not going to fly with most carriers, how many hours was your training? If it was less than 160 hours your really going have a hard time finding a carrier hiring you.
