How much do they charge now? When I went in 1994 it was 2 weeks and $385.
When Joe Blackburn gets there you need to give Tyson a serious consideration. The pay is the best I've ever got and I get home when I want. The same problems with shippers and receivers are the same but the company is better. Stay clear of Cargo Transporters. The recruiter Shelly is smokin' hot but don't let that sway your train of thought.they have cameras in the local and regional trucks pointing at the drivers. It's just a matter of time before they put them in the OTR trucks. -
Hey Msheets. Yeah, now it is 1,008 to attend and 2 months long for the school. Joan Main is the lead instructor. What's your name - i'll see if any of the instructors remember you. Joe from Tyson is coming in this morning and I have already talked to him. I have my application filled out and ready. The instructors did say he looks for the cream of the crop and asks them who would make him a good driver. Maverick is checking out my background now and I may go there to haul glass. It pays 40 pm to start and in 1 year goes to 48pm. Also applied to CT, crete and cargo. Schneider bugged the piss out of me but I said no. We usually get about 15 recruiters now in 2 months. The school is great and the instructors are old farts who drove for 20 or 30 years so they are alot of fun. Have a good one!

Hi dewaugh66, sounds like you have a good thing going on there in hudson. My girlfriend & i are starting there on 3/8 in hopes of teaming OTR. Glad to hear the instructors are "good ol' boys" Been wanting to talk with Joe Blackburn to see if they team out of wilkesboro, We've been playing phone tag. Keep us updated & the best of luck to ya!
P.S. how many in your class?
Thanx! -
Yeah Joe at Tyson said they don't run many teams but they like husband/wife. Their road test is tough from what ive heard but a good company. Only thing is Joe said your hometime may start on any day, not always weekends. They do have nice Macks with autos and epu's. I plan to work for Cargo if all my emploment checks go through. I know a few people from there and I like the company. Good luck.
