I'm not actually a Simon driver, I am just friends with a number of old Simon drivers.

My hire date was the day Central celebrated it's 5th anniversary as being Central.

That's my bad PanhandleFlash. I had to up and leave right in the middle of the post. I wasn't calling JJ childish tho, just saying it was a childish reason to close the post. But I also added in there that I only know what I read and there might have been more to the story. As you can see, I went back and re-wrote the post as soon as I had some spare time.

Again, I apologize to you and JJ. I didn't mean any disrespect. Just a poor choice of words on my part.

Ah. I see. I didn't know you leased but I guess I should have. What exactly happened to your old one. Must have been pretty serious for rent you a truck. And yeah, in your case with the lease and all it is better to keep 'er rolling.

It needed some warrentee/recall work done. There was a leaky wheel seal, but it's a 'new' part so the shop didn't have the tool to work on it, or something like that... Anyway, that is why it was taking so long. So our DM attainted a rental for us so we could do the run... We are back in our truck now (her name is Matilda) and she is running fine :biggrin_255:

A little advice for you otr guys. Some of us in day cabs have CBs, if you are in an unfamiliar area, feel free to ask us for directions. If you see us, that is probably our delivery area and we will most likely know the receiver you are going to. We may even let you follow us there!

I see a lot of trucks making left turns into a driveway from the right lane. Driving 20 in a 45 zone. Taking the long way around to get there etc. Especially around USCS in Tracy. A few times I was getting fuel at the gas station on Chrisman road and some of you guys ask me for directions and since I'm going to my company's warehouse, I just have you follow me.

:biggrin_2559: That's what she was named after... That song. A 'matilda' in that song is a bag you toss over your shoulder that contains all your stuff as you go walk about (or so I understand)... Well she is with us on our travels and is carrying all our stuff :biggrin_25525:

Speaking of clutches, is floating a thing of the past or can we still do it?

You do as instructed during training... Then you do what works for you out on the road... I do a combination of both. Depends on the weight and how tired I am :biggrin_25523:
