    Howdy,
i have a Toyota with no obvious place to mount an antenna.
i have a magnetic mount with a pathetic coax that had swr in the 3's that is a paperweight at best.
Or i've been thinking of a trunk bike rack for when i get a bike.
i don't want to drill holes and there is nothing i could get a vise grip mount on....
Any suggestions aside from buying yet another cb antenna:biggrin_25512: to add to my already too many collection ?
    Thx Cuz

I would get a Wilson "Little Wil" or a 1000 mag mount, 1000 is a lot better but a lot longer as well. I would put it right in the middle of the roof.

Then I would do something like this on the front or rear fender. The holes you drill will only be seen if the hood or trunk are open and can be easily plugged with a stainless steel screw, or silicone, if you remove the antenna. No way it will hurt you on re-sale if that's what you are worried about. Of course if you have a "fleece" vehicle you might get in trouble for drilling the holes. I don't think you will have a good enough ground on a bike rack, unless you bolt it to the vehicle or run some ground straps.

I picked up a new K30 K40 magnet mount whip for my Nissan Maxima, for $20 off ebay. It is tunable, and does an outstanding job. Yours should be tunable, also. I stick mine right behind the sun-roof in the center.
