As soon as it warms up I will bobtail to morris pick up my load and plan on stopping in grand island NE bosselmans for the night.
Snowed here just enough to glaze everything.

Orientation starts on sunday, on thursday they match you up with a trainer and most are out with their trianer by sat. Then it is a minimum of 5 weeks before being routed to dallas. Then you have the option of going home for 4 days. Then start the 2nd phase. Or you continue on and go so
lo and get routed home. Will take longer than 8 weeks. Plan on 12 weeks.
Home time with stevens is every 5 to 6 weeks -
That is most of the fleet.

The purpose of this short post is to let everybody know that my "Plan B" is in effect. I begin CDL training at a local school that is held in high esteem by many carriers, including Stevens (though they are no longer an option for me.) My decision was made because of some non-CDL-related things in my life, such as the myofascial pain in my jaw requiring a series of visits to a physical therapist and the slow payment of my first pension check from the government.
At least I'll be in a tractor pulling a trailer.nascarchuck, Shiftylots, Dryver and 1 other person Thank this. -
Truck 9593. I don't know if I'm heading that way or not. Still no load assignment and I've been mty for well over an hour. My Dm is not in today, but I have already called Stevens and emailed the planner. I guess we'll see what happens.

Well it's been a bit since I posted...been running fairly hard.
two weeks back to back in excess of 3,000 miles and off to a good start on this week.
Heading for Ft Worth from Murfreesboro.
I don't miss the weather. Have been further south since Christmas.
Got my safety talk this week too.
One more thing to add to TLea's post. Never talk with anyone about what you're hauling. A reefer can be a prime target. If pressed, say something like frozen vegetables or raw dog foods. Nothing anyone would want to steal.
So far the new system has been working for me. I think your DM has more to do with it than they are letting on.
Time will tell. -
I think you may be correct. I refused to pick up a load after I acknowledged it and started rolling on it because 2 hours later they sent a message with 2 days added to the load. Crazy. So I sat for 3 hours and they sent me a new load with 240 dh and 1575 loaded for the original delivery date of the 31st. So, to Riverside we go..

Hi gang.
Slipped into Pontoon Beach J last night. Set to repower our load to another driver who was a bit shy on his hours. Weren't sure if we could make OTD with our load, but as it turned out, we would have been able.
Swapped out this morning. Took Kraft WAY too many hours to get him loaded.
He took off for Ohio and we scaled out to head for N Platte....thousand pounds over gross.
At 0700, spoke to night crew who said, "don't know what we'll do. Lets just wait for 8 o clock and see what they think.
Talk about passing the buck!
And then going from night crew to weekend crew.
At a bit after 8, got hold of weekend DM (mine was off), who seemed at a loss of what to do.
Oh, forgot to tell you. Schnieder driver with hazmat tanker, drove it into Schnieder lot, crashed it into building and then set it on fire.
Everything around there was shut down for hours.
I suggested we find a solo 660 truck and try seeing if that would work.
"Great idea! Now where can we find one?"
Gave him number of truck sittng bobtail in lot, long story short, he weighed out 400# under, so off he went.
Now we have WallyWorld load for Cheyenne, delivers tomorrow. They tried to give that to three other solo's in the lot. 900 miles, 24 hours... great weekend crew!
Not sure where we'll shut down tonight. Thinking N Platte J.
Anyone around there, say hello.
We're the T2000 missing the right front bumper segment.
