This company is not the greatest if you want to be a solo driver.

Overall it's a good company though. They don't cheat you. I'm making good money with them now that i switched to teams.

Sit back a read what folks have had to say. Also look into the Good Company section and the Bad Company section too. Pre-hire really does not mean anything. USX will not even do the back ground check on you until you are at Orientation.

This is so true. I have this from experience as well. I got prehires from all of the so called starter companies and as Renegade said they dont all do through backgrounds and such till you get there. they mostly just look at criminal and DMV background and if you don't flag your a potential candidate. Not true with all but I personally like what U.S. Express has to say I am looking further into them myself. Good luck and research them all for your needs before making your decision. Not all companies match your needs.

Why do you say it may not be a good fit if you want to be a Solo driver? Curious

U.S.X is geared toward Team Driving. They've figured that teaming is more efficent in terms of getting more freight in less time than solos. For example, a solo driver can pull roughly (depending on route, fuel stops, bathroom breaks, weather, and etc.) an avg. of 2.2k-3.2k miles a week. As a team, you can be able to pull 4.5k to 6.3k (6.3k is pushing it, but very possible).

As far as the orientation process, everything that has been stated is correct. USX won't even begin the background check until you arrive in Tunnel Hill, Georgia. :)

    Good luck out there!

The truth is they will run over you with a fine toothed comb and if you have ANY employment that cannot be varified you will more than likely be on the grey dog back home.

Very very true! Just have all your ducks in a row and you'll be fine. :)

6.3K is very do-able for a team. Hardly break a sweat doing that. We've had some 7.5k weeks.
