I too live in NYS, orange county for me. The police here are very "proactive" in the traffic department. I really can't complain, though. There have been three people hit and killed on the little road that I live on. The speed limit is 30.

The cops in Marietta, GA are the worst that I have EVER seen, ANYWHERE. I was once arrested and spent seventeen hours in jail (strip searched and the whole nine) because I didn't have my proof of insurance in my car. My fault I know, but that's a bit of an overreaction, dontcha think? And that's not the only freaky experience I had there.

Anyway, back on topic. The cops are not so bad where I live, but my husband did get cussed out by a cop the first time we drove through the city. Ha ha. He didn't go fast enough when the light turned green.:biggrin_2559:

Yup, can't argue much with that line of thinking. I always try to remember that the more I argue/disrespect him, the more he writes. And it usually gets expensive when they write too much. :biggrin_25525:

Just got pulled into the DOT check at the Mid-Hudson bridge right before 9W in Poughkeepsie the other day for a class 1 DOT inspection. Was calm, courteous, and followed the exact instructions given by the inspector. He was also courteous and professional. Got several violations on the trailer, including an OOS for a nail in one of the tires, but received no tickets. Shows what a little courtesy, appearance and cooperation can do.
