Hauling containers

    Can anyone help me with the best way(s) to tiedown 20ft or 40ft containers. I will be hauling them empty on a 40' PJ gooseneck.

    MT containers need the 4 corners secured and a couple of straps over the top.

    generally when I haul them on a flat, we run two straps over the top and a chain through the front and rear bottom locking points to the chain tie points on the sides of the trailer

    The advice above is correct. You will need one chain in front and one in back (each with a binder) through the lock pin holes to the trailer. and for 20 ft cans you need 2 straps for 40 ft cans you need 4 straps. Its not the weight obviously thats the issue since they are empty but you need 1 strap for every 10 ft and the chains keep it from sliding front to rear.
