Just study and study some more. If you fail a section you can always take the test again the next day. Good luck!

google "practice Cdl tests". there should be two sites that come up towards the top of the list. They have practice tests that you can take online with feedback. There is no fee for them. DO NOT purchase practice tests or study material. 100% of what you need to know is in your state study manual. The practice tests have about 70-80% of the questions that you will see on your actual test. If you do well on those, you should have no problem passing the written CDL.

Keep in mind the tests are not truly there to show what you know, but for the states to cover themselves. Basically by passing the test you are evidencing that you knew the material that you were tested on, and therefore when you screw up its your fault, not the state's. All the paperwork that you have and will sign is just that, somebody CYA!

You will really learn the most when you do mentored driving (if you dont get a moron who is just in it for the money, and there are plenty of those). Spend you time on the truck when you are not driving or sleeping (hopefully not at the same time, lol) going over the material they gave you in school and see how it actually applies to what you are going to be doing once you get out on your own. Forget about the playstation and other distractions, time enough for that later down the road.

One of the biggest things you need to learn is Proper Trip Planning. The training truck is a lot of GO-Go-go. Somebody always has hours and the truck keeps moving. It is critical that you make the transition from that to being solo. Learn when you are tired and when its time to call it a day.
Plan it, and you wont get yourself into trouble later. When you become exhausted, your decision making ability goes to zero, and you wont even realize it. Before you know it, they are calling a wrecker to save your butt.

Good Luck - Get a good night's sleep before taking the test. If you dont know it by then you will NOT learn it by trying to cram it in.

Test Questions and Answers dot com was the site my wife and I used. They have an extensive list of questions. I just could not read the stupid CDL manual without falling asleep in 20 minutes or less. It's the greatest cure for insomnia ever found :biggrin_25519:.

Seriously... it costs a bit but it was worth it. I took the tests till I passed 3 or 4 for each test and passed all of them on the first try. The DMV tests were easier than the the ones I had practiced taking. I recommend this site for what its worth.

Schnieder has an on-line CDL test which I think was pretty close to the real thing. There were some others I found, all but the correct answer didnt seem to apply to the question. It made it too easy.

Schnieder test made ya think a bit.

Good luck on your test man! Study and you will be OK,.... dont psych yourself out like I did. It made for a very stressful day.:biggrin_2556:
