Wiseone, et al......................
After spending the last two or three weeks exploring this site and it's forums, I feel I should come clean and let y'all know how I came to find this place.
After about eight or nine years of dedicated posting at another truck related site, posting positive information and advice, I made a comment in jest about their word filter filtering out words like proper names. You'd think I would receive a little respect and understanding, but NO, that wasn't the case.
Instead, another poster, who's wife is a moderator there, got on his soapbox and began to preach about how necessary the word filter is because of ALL the posters who take advantage of no moderation. I was told if I didn't like it there, I should "vote with my feet."
Well, he caught me on the wrong day to tell me that. So I took his suggestion.
The rumor began that I left due to the word filter. Talk about filtering words! The REAL reason I left was because of HIS shabby treatment. But that's water under the bridge.
Prior to my leaving, this particular poster there mentioned how he had been kicked to the curb at another truck related site, --- this one.
So, I figured if any site saw through his bovine excrement so quickly, they couldn't possibly be as bad as he was telling folks, and I checked y'all out.
I lurked for about two weeks reading the posts here --- and needless to say I am VERY impressed with what I found. You, Wiseone, are due complements for your excellent site, along with many thanx for your continuing efforts.
Thank you sir!
And also, many thanx to the other fine folks who post here.
If the glove fits, I must submit.
Ergo, this post.
Thanx again, to all.

AfterShock, WOW! Thanks! It is RARE I get compliments, LOL. I deeply appreciate the time it took you to post those kind words. I cannot tell you how much your words mean right now. All I can say is thanks. We have MANY talk bad about us, but we will refrain from doing the same to them and shall take the higher road.
-
Thanks for the kind words and I hope you found your new internet home here.
As for that other member that sent you this way I got a VERY good idea who it was, and LOL of your assessment of him. -
Boy was I ever lucky to stumble on this Form as my first stop! Beginners luck I can be sure! I enjoy my experience here, and look forward to seeing whats new and what I can learn every time I arrive back home!
-
Etosha, thanks! That is EXACTLY what we are striving to do. We are trying to catch drivers BEFORE they make mistakes and others blow smoke up new drivers' butts. We take a lot of crap for speaking the truth...but, with you all it is worth it.

I didn't know there was another truckers forum.... I used to check out some DAC site that had a forum. But it was more like a lounge full of ###### off truckers. This is more my speed right here.
-
LOL, there are other pretenders, but there can only be ONE number one, HAHA. Thanks. We're glad to have you here too, Pete_379X.

Yeah.
If you've visited the site, I'm sure you know the one.
I'll admit, when it comes to trucking related issues, he's pretty well versed. But when it comes to understanding situations, he has a one-track mind. Not to be confused by the facts.
But, as angry as I was with his attitude and poor people pleasing personality, I think I DO have to thank him for causing me to explore my trucking site options. And to think that it was HIS suggestion that sent me on my way, and even providing an alternative site to try, --- although I doubt that was his intention.
However, there ARE several posters there whom I'll miss.
Perhaps I should inform them of what I've found here.
Ya reckon?
What ever...............................
I seek no revenge.

Well, maybe just a little.
:smt064
I just want EVERYone to know their options.
And the Stories From The Road section here is just what the doctor ordered, and what the wannabees and newbies have been asking for over there.
I remove my official NASCAR designer cap, with my favorite driver's number on it, as I stand at attention and offer up my most snappy, and sincere,
SALUTE

to you and the other fine contributors here.
Thanx!
Job very well done!
Carry on,..........................................
BTW,
anybody know how to remove the limitations on my reading speed? I have a LOT of catching up to do. I wanna gouge on it. Maybe Evelyn Woods Speed Reading For Truckers?
**Jest keeding!**

Dont worry Aftershock, we are all typing slowly so that you can read slowly! :smt074
-
And doncha know I appreciate thatcha do that, Etosha.
Yes I do.
It helps me catch up.
I'm several laps down.
So, while y'all are typing slowly, I got my ol' Reader-Bilt wound tight, but not so tight that I miss the scenery as I pass by, --- and sometimes through, on my way to the next story.
And I'm happy to report that I think I'm making headway, readin' fast.
It's a good thing there's no way I could ever talk as fast as I can read, though.
Shux Howdy!
I'd probably be into Tele-Marketing and miss all the fun at Grocery-Marketing Warehouses.
Nope. I just read fast. So far, I ain't been caught read speeding.
But I try not to read faster than my comprehension can fly.
Some things can be skimmed.
Some things shouldn't be.
Kinda like speeding through a construction zone.
Especially when that construction zone is through a scenic area.
Times like that, I hear my Lead Driver tellin' me,
"This Is The Day I Hath Made For YOU.
Now, You WILL Slow Down And Smell The Roses,..................
For At LEAST As Long As This Construction Zone Continues.
Talk With You Later, --- At Supper.
If Not Before."

I like to talk with my Lead Driver on an "as needed" basis.
That's a LOT.
Pretty cool of Him to be there when I need Him.
I think of Him as my Main Dispatcher.
Good Grief!
Have I gone and digressed,.....................again?
What can I say?
Happens a Lot.
See what I mean?
Just imagine if we were face-to-face, and I was TALKIN' to y'all real fast?!
This way, when y'all READ me, y'all can slow me the dad-burned down.
Or, turn me off altogether ---- like a CB radio.
10-4?
