when it regenerates smoke is everywere!!!! I hate DPF
IGOR-UA Thanks this. -
possible exhaust leak, this aftertreatment systems are very sensitive. when the aftertreatment doser turns on, it'll be easier to spot the leak.
-
yep, but when it is off look for ash on connections.
-
ok,thnx. only noticed it when I was in city traffic, canceled regen 'till back on hwy.
I didn't say it was an '08, with 203K, if that matters. -
IT'S THE FLEXPIPE behind the turbo before the regen system, it's right under the floor on the pasanger side
they burn out on the side facing the trans up high.... you can't see the spot unless you go under the truck and look at the backside of the flexpipe but ... we had a 08 780 with the d13 and it would burn out that same spot every 25,000 miles +/- 2,000 miles,
we could tell it was going out when we could smell fuel when it regened, 1,000 mlies later it would burn out and start smoking when regen would start.....
btw the only reason you see the smoke is because you are going slower than freeway speed -
btw ours didn't start doing it until it had 185k on it then it was every 25k after that for 2 years
-
Dang,every 25K.?? luv the engine,(no gov,pulls great!) but that's gonna be a pain.unless shop can fix right.
-
we had it done at volvo everytime, had something to do with what metal they used couldn't take the heat of the ulsd motor then (remember that the d13 was a new motor in 08 made for ulsd) so i would think the new ones are better lasting.
that my not be it but having had a 08 d13 it's the 1st thing i would check -
An exhaust pipe is a pipe or a system through which waste gases are released from a combustion engine, stove or furnace. These gases can be released directly into the air or into other components of the system that they are attached to.
