Rock slide on I40

Maybe not this one but we've had a mild winter so far with a lot of rain . Wait until they get a hard freeze and all the water in those rocks expands as ice .

I seen it on Knoxville news. Evidently there's a 2nd huge bolder about to come down. They were talking about bringing a demolition crew in. The way they talked, it sounded like the TN side. They said Cobb Co.

Sounds now like it's right in the area of the last slide. Seems like they would of caught it?

Back to I-26 boys!

Edit, that's ####e CO. It runs rom the line all the way to the I-81 split. It has to be right past the state line somewhere. The cliffs end in that area.

 

Yea around TN mm 451. What's crazy didn't they just spend money to put up safety nets in TN. Report says that westbound will be closed for weeks even though the initial slide is cleaned up. But there worried about that big boulder crashing down.

The one I read now said MM450 on the westbound side. That's about 2 miles inside TN. Compared to the trees, that's a pretty big rock. At least 50 loads.

They say it should be back open on Feb 6, guess we just hve to wait and see.

I seen on the news today, it should be open somewhere between Monday to Wednesday. There was a little rockslide and a rock hit the trackhoe operator in the head and they shut down that day. I think that was Thursday. He's alright. The cab of the trackhoe looked a little messed up though.
