With PAM, you can do this. I live in Houston and I took my 'hoome time' at our Bridgewater, NJ yard a couple times. Once for the Pocono race, and a couple times just to spend with a couple hunnies I know up there. :) They don't really care (at least, they DIDN'T) where you take your time off, as long as you have a safe and secure spot to park your truck/trailer.

This is actually one of the things I'm looking forward to when going solo! Travel the USA! One week take my time off in Las Vegas, the other in NYC, etc etc ... ok maybe I'm exaggerating on the locations but wherever I can go without paying for a plane ticket is fine with me :biggrin_255:

PAM rarely sends solo's out west. They do it, but they are few and far between. I only went out there once as a solo.

You will not get sent to Vegas for your home time. No loads going to Vegas, and they won't let you sit under a load. NY is easier, because of the yard in Bridgewater. Try taking off time where there is a yard..easier to get.

Get time at the Bridgewater yard, you can go to NYC, anywhere in Jersey..Hell, if you're taking a week, you can even rent a car and take the 4 hour trip up to Boston...Go down to Baltimore or DC...

Get time off in Chicago, park your truck at the Blue Island drop yard. I dont think it's CTA, but there is a train that runs near by into the city. I think its the METRA that is near. I went to a Bears game on Dec 4 last year...parked at the Petro in Monee, went to the METRA station in University Park. I'm not sure of the cost, because a chick there gave me a weekend pass she didnt need anymore, but I think its around $10-20 for a weekend? Something like that.

Get time at the N Jackson yard, and you have Cleveland, Pittsburgh, yada yada...

You get my point. lol But yeah, Vegas, California...you'll have to do that on your vacation, and take a plane. They wont send you there for hometime.
