Coincidentally, the same thing happened a few years ago on I-4.
Heavy smoke. Zero visibility. Multiple vehicle accidents with fatalities.

It's happened on 95 a couple times also.. And FHP uses that same excuse why the road was reopened every time..

It isn't uncommon to see smoke in that area.

Be careful. I-10 just west of Macclenny is thick with smoke and it's getting worse. Be careful out there.

I seen on CNN and the NBC Nightly News that the pile-up happened 30 minutes after the FHP reopened the highway.
I can just imagine the phone calls the FHP are getting along with the ### chewings on the other end of the phone and cops always manage to cover their on ### and the possibility of them being held responsible.....slim to none. :biggrin_25513::biggrin_25513:

one never knows how freaky things could ever be until you get into it...but sure would have slowed down with flashers on....ur screew if you stop in lane and if you cant see the shoulder ur ######..To tell you all I would have probably ran in it myself: you don't know if its gonna clear up in the next 300 feet or if it will continue for several miles. But these drivers i heared from news reports travel the road often and to go to as fast as they were going is a death wish (that day) if the other driver got you into the wreck you were not doing your job properly, professional dose not mean that its other guys fault, if you wrecked with other guy, not much professionalism there is there.
Be safe, God Bless you all
