Not to keep beating a dead horse but is there a way you can pay for your room up front so you don't get the $10 a week taken out of your check later? I may pay them the tuition up front as well if they don't mind.

One way or another it is going to get paid and I just assume pay it up front and not have to think about it again.

 

Yes, But I would check to see if you could get a better rate going thru Millis.

 

Just a heads up for anyone new that is fixing to start Millis now or in the near future. I had gotten my A permit back in Sept. 2010 and it expires after a year but your scores are good for two years so you don't have to re-take the written part, just renew the license.

Went to renew mine yesterday and FMCSA/DMV now requires you to present your medical card at the time of getting your A permit, renewals, and I believe the road test as well.

So get your DOT physical before going to take your test.

 

Hey rd, I'd hate to tell you the wrong thing. I'm sure MrG could answer your question. I ran across a web site he started a while back you could look for or he may even stop here and check out this thread. I know I stayed at the motel a couple of days next to the terminal (the American I think it was called) and he told me to tell them I was with Millis to get a discount. I did and wound up paying 35.00 a night instead of 45.00. Thats including taxes. Of course I caught hell from the other guys. They kept telling me I'd probably get a knock on the door from a LL. I never did and it really was a nice room. Please keep in mind I'm easy to satisfy. Go check it out. They'll let you take a look at a room before you buy it. Hope this helps.

I was thinking if I pay for the room I could pick the nights I wanted to stay up in Cartersville and drive home on nights I felt like going home providing there was not a road trip planned for the next day. I am about an hour and a half away. With no traffic I can make it faster. Anyway, this is all speculation because I am not sure how things work yet as far as does Millis care if you go home during the classroom training or do they prefer you stick around the area?

I think you mentioned you went home a few nights and stayed in a hotel other nights. I am assuming you paid for that out of your pocket?
