I passed my CDL road test and will soon be hitting the road. For those that followed my past threads, my nervousness behind the wheel is gone. I am much more relaxed than before. Thanks for the words of encouragement. As of now, I will be leaving for orientation on Feb 13th for Henderson Trucking. The nervousness has suddenly returned. LOL. Thanks all and I'll see you all out there on road.

Just remember everyone started sometime. I suggest that you take notes and keep a record on everything you do. I think back when I just started out and if I had a computer with ms word I would have notes on everything from the truck, roads, rules, where to eat, people, and so on. It's nice when you can go into a drop knowing who the people are. I know I've gotten better service.

Oh, decisions, decisions. I was offered a position at orientation for a Schneider Wal-Mart dedicated run. It would get me home 2 days a week, which would fit my situation better than Henderson. My wife is pregnant, due in early April. I would still be with my trainer if I went with Henderson. Schneider says orientation and training would be only 18 days for me since I recently graduated from a driving school. I am leaning towards going with Schneider now. Are there any reasons I should avoid Wal-Mart dedicated?

Change of plans. Going to go to orientation with Schneider on the 21st. With a new baby on the way, the home time of the Wal-Mart dedicated route is hard to pass up.

I drove for Schneider on a dedicated account many years ago, whatever you do make sure you're aren't late you will have multiple stops, I don't know how much has changed but you have to hustle a little bit to get those stops done. Wal-Mart does not care you will feel like the mailman delivering in rain, sleet, snow, hurricanes, tornadoes lol just kidding my point being they want the groceries there on time
