By looking at the tag #'s on my axles how do I determine the gear ratio? both rears have the #333 at the end,not sure if that is it.By the way they are on a 1991 pete 377 w/9 spd Thanks

I don't know how to tell by the axle tag. You could call the dealer with the vin, or look on the door tag, or mark the axle and count the revolutions.

Rockwell also tags the carrier housings, unless they've been removed, will clearly show the gear ratio on a separate line.

333 is not the gear rario. No such ratio as 333. You sure its not 336 or 373. These numbers could be your ratio.

Mine had it right on the tag with the serial number and model number then a ratio. Had to clean it off good was on passenger side right on axle housing when looking from the front of the front axle.

I think even on the tag the gears should be represented like 3:73 with a colon. So look for some numbers with a colon. And like log truckers said...clean it off real good.
