You'll get there. You'd be amazed how well you get some of this stuff once no one is watching you do it.

    mattbh23 Thanks this.

LOL, no comment, let's just say I had to be outside in it.[/QUOTE]

It looks like you went through a real sh-t kicker then.

Just for curriosity, have you recived any more job offers?
Talkled with Snyder yesterday, also Wernir they told me that you have to have a CDL before you apply.
And yes, they both hire out of this school and location. :biggrin_25519:

I went through C1 in February in 2008. It was bitter cold and sucked sometimes.

At the time I felt it was a CDL Mill and had to many students for the amount of trucks on the range.

So after class was out I would stay and do pretrips on the trucks. Also the trucks were unlocked so I climbed in and just practice the motion and sequence of the shifter. Trying to get the rhythm of it.

It was a challenge and I didn't like the weird exit C1 has you pull out of, but I stuck it out and passed. Then I drove 2 years for PAM and worked with a few other companies.

Well week 3 is halfway over and I am not a happy camper. Ready to get out of here, but I have a goal that I must attain and that is to get a Class A CDL license. My driving has improved a lot thanks to my makeshift trash can clutch. Monday I went out driving and just did a quick refresher loop around the country, and then the next day (Tuesday) I ended driving 44 miles. I just have to work on relaxing myself because I will not focus if I get too tense.

Today my instructor took us out on the CDL route and I stalled out....auto fail...after that my focus just went to crap because I was pissed about stalling, but a nice lap out in the country calmed me down and I could refocus on driving. Now the only thing I have to focus on now is the range. Still having a little trouble with my straight line but hopefully I can get it down by next week. Gotta get home and work a few more days at my old job before hitting the road.

I attended C1 ft wayne about 7 months ago. If I remember right the hotel we were at was a pit. One of the girls working there was also a working girl if you get my meaning. And there was a swingers club attached lol.

Anyway, one piece of advice, once you get your cdl you can pretty much forget most of what they teach you because most of it is either wrong or impractical. You will get your real learning in when you start with your trainer.

Good luck trying to stay awake during Ivans slideshow lectures. All I could hear in my head was "Bueller, Bueller".

I think what really gave me the biggest clue about c1 was when steel cords were peeling out of one of the range trucks drive tires and the range manager said "run it till it blows".

Don't expect much in the way of pay for the first 6 months with PAM. If you clear $350/week you are doing good.

    bikegoon and mattbh23 Thank this.

Ivan Slideshows, yeah it was pretty monotone, but informative. The range and road trucks are yeah good for students to learn on....man them trucks are something else.
