I used to work for Melton in 2010, I am heading back on the 13th. Monica, my recruiter, said it will be a hair folicle test.
-
Seems like 2 conflicting reports. One says urine and another says hair (according to a recruiter). If a person decided to get clean and stay clean just to drive, it seems kind of discriminatory to do a hair sample. Maybe they do the hair sample and maybe the recruiter said hair to see if the applicant was still interested.

I reckon any hands best bet is to sign on and go to orientation and find out first hand.

always use as many as youre comfortable. I used 14 my 2nd load, when 7 was enough lol. what was your first load? where you at? heading?
-
My first load was steel tube from Moose.. around the term in OH.. easy load but still took me 2 1/2 hrs to strap and tarp.. i dont care how long it takes as long as the load is secure and stays dry..if needed... i just took a steel building to Chattanooga then they shot me by the house for 24 hrs.. But i still havent got a load and i went on board at 11:30 this morning.. it feels good to have all of the equipment i need on the truck.. but not getting a load yet means more time with the wife and kids....
Noggin Thanks this. -
My first load I took when I was there was a 45,000 shotgun coil. I think I reset my chains every hour cause it kept moving on me. I was nervous the whole trip to Talladega. I had a load out of Tenn. on time that I had to use ever strap I had on the truck. If it is secure, I am happy. It is too easy to throw 1 or 2 straps or chains and roll, but it only takes one time in a lifetime to end your job by something faliing off the trailer.
I hope things are still going good around there since I am coming back on to Melton.
Hey ECUBED82, what did they get rid of those folks in orientation for? We had 9 at my first orientation and everyone made. 1 guy quit the Thursday night we all were leaving for Leipsic, OH to get our coils though. -
the first day a guy couldnt balance on his right foot... and the second guy failed the driving test... but im thankful that i made it it was short and fast.. im glad to have two loads under my belt.. now i have more equipment to make my job easier, but it will still take me forever to strap and tarp but i will get better.. glad to get a few extra days with the family just hope they get me a load first thing in the mornin......

I am shocked that someone failed the road test. We had a guy who I swear was in nuetral 90% of the road test. Grinding every gear, stalled the truck rolled down a hill in nuetral and so on. I was scared for my life!
We also had a guy who was shifting as fast as he could and running the RPMs up as high as he could.
I guess they got pickier, which is good. What truck are you in? I am scheduled to come back on to melton next week.
