A lowboy got stuck on the tracks in town today, and a Amtrack crashed into it. They said the driver and conductor and 4 other people were injured with non life threatening injuries. The tracks will not be able to reopen for awhile, as they got majorly damaged.

I was always taught from day one: A space cushion is the space all around you. Front, back, left, right, ABOVE AND BELOW. Why did he even attempt it if he had even a shimmer of doubt of clearing those tracks? No excuse here.

they usually have signs marking rr tracks that are high and shouldt be crossed with low vehicles( low boys)...and he shoulda known it wasnt gonna work anyway, thats part of knowing what you are drivin....hope all recover quickly...

I think the rail companies should think about putting a sort of sensor/camera at these high locations and an alert that the trains could pick up on before they arrive at 'em . .might cut down on the damage to the trains peeps . .
