I don't think it will get anywhere that big. You have to advertise to do that. If you start advertising Galaxy radios, converted, tuned and ready to go all over the internet, you run the risk of "somebody" filing a complaint on you, or otherwise coming to the attention of Uncle Charlie. Neither him or me want to deal with that. That right there may keep me from going forward with this. Procrastination, at which I'm an expert, may also keep this from ever getting off the ground!!:biggrin_2559:

Mike, sounds like a very good idea. If you give good service your name will be known nationwide. Good luck!

I see the shipping costs being prohibitive on this. A good warranty is no problem. But, say you just a bought a brand new radio, used it a week and it quits. It's nothing more that a bad solder joint, common to the Galaxy type radios, but you have to pay to ship it back plus the return trip back to you. Suddenly you have as much in your radio as if you just paid the high price locally to start with. Course if you don't ever have a problem.........plus a really good tune isn't available just everywhere........and not everyone can by this type of radio as easily locally as they used to........I don't know. I would like to see it work out. I will continue to check into it.

There are hundreds of folks out there that are in the same boat that I am in. If not for your recommendation to use your buddy, I would still have a new Connex that was useless. After being "tuned" by someone with a very good reputation, it took your guy quite a bit of work to actually get it right. The biggest problem has been stated on here as well as other boards hundreds of times..........no oversight of the "golden screwdrivers" Some may actually be good but very few are GREAT. When you run across a GREAT one you know it.
