Hey, Anyone out there in CB land know what channels the truckers are using other than 19, or channel 17 in California???
I just drove from Tennessee to Seattle WA and back over the holidays and found very little traffic on the CB. Was wondering if they are using USB, or LSB to exscape the consent chatter (totally unreadable noise) on channel 19.
I know some around the LA area use channel 15, and then 17 north to Washington state. and 21 down around the San Diego area. But the rest of the nation was pretty quiet compared to the days of old.

    Just wondering

In the day 19 was used east to west, and 17 for northand south. Now its whatever, many have gone to ham or other out of band channels, others got tired of garbage and turned them off, i still listen but rarely talk. Use it locally for traffic info only.

I don't think many drivers use LSB or USB, much less even know what those letters stand for. Even if they were you would know because they'd sound garbled, like Charlie browns teacher, on a certain channel. There's not much activity on CB anymore compared to what it used to be, ever since the FCC thre in the towel in trying to keep the idiots off the air waves.

Alot of guys just use them at shippers and receivers at least most the guys i work with do. I know i get tired of listening to drivers ramble on for 3 minutes and not really saying anything, just talking to hear themselves talk.

For the most part we use 19 for east west, 17 North south and especially 17 on I5 corridor. 15 and 13 around the LA area when the channels get clogged up. Of course on the N-S half the goobers are on 19 still because they don't know no better lol.
