I've thought about it, but the jails are already over flowing and well if I were a cop......ya I wouldnt be bringing in one bad guy at a time, when I got back to the police station it would be like a clown car in the back full of illegals and idiots. I'd end up busting a cap is someones az$ or rodney kinging someone hahaha

Ok, so im jumping in on this. I have been driving off and on since 2008.. my most recent "monkey in the box" job was a 1099 driving positon with a 2 truck company. recently they moved to TN and was asked to relocate there and they made it sound good. I had no reason to complain since the previous runs I have done with them paid 1100 a week west coast to east coast haulin produce. So I went, and they switched to haulin nursery tress from TN to NJ.. altogether the run was 877miles one way.. well after 2 weeks in TN he told me I had no choice but to run the 877 overnight... sleep while being unloaded then run back 877 to get another load and (repeat)....I did it 2 times and I was so stupid for doing it so dont rip me one ( i know).. I quit and came home to CA. well... now the ***hole wont verify my year 1 1/2 years driving for him and if he does he talks **** to the recruiter. BUT, i know Marten will hire me on.. but dang.. im hearing its not to great there... But I have been around the trucking world long enough to know that most complaints about companies we hear never have the ful story... some drivers dont want to look stupid so they make it sound like its the company out to get them... all I know is 60% of my experiance cant get verified!!.. so im working with 9 months verifiable..lol I have to build it up somewhere.. There is bad everywhere... but "MOST" of the time its what you make of it.... I want info from experianced drivers about Marten... is it "Good enough" for now?..... Thanks guys..

Marten will want 1 year verifiable. And they do use usis/ dac to find this info. It even says that in all thier print ads.

Well I am familiar with this. I was looking for more of another driver that has worked there or currently does that has had an okay experiance there... Most of the complaints I see are from new drivers.

Thank you for your experience at Marten... I knew I would find a driver that is doing good there.. I spoke to a recruiter already and they want me to update the App that I but in a year ago. I would be on Western Regional also. Again thanks for the positive experience...

Crete has a terminal in Phoenix. I spent 17 years with them. Went to Marten because Crete had issues with where I moved to. Boy was I stupid. Injured in an accident and Marten could not care less. Since then my Dr has informed me I will never drive again. spent 2.5 years in constant pain. almost lost my my home considered suicide because of the pain.
Broke a wrist while at Crete and they only wanted me to recover fully. No pressure. No denial of medical treatment. no question of my condition.

Tough situation... Yes, Marten has slid down the drain, but so have a lot of companies. My biggest gripe with them was over home time (only got home once on time in 4 1/2 years), but the mandatory per diem and "sliding pay scale" things bugged (it's designed to screw the driver while maximizing corporate profits). Given how many companies have done that now, I would have to say the home time issue should be the biggest concern. I lived in SoCal (six miles from the Ontario terminal), and they couldn't get me home to save their life. Even the fleet managers got frustrated by it (one actually quit over it).

If they're willing to hire you, and you can't get a local carrier to hire you on, go for it. At the very least, you will get a year or two that CAN be verified under your belt. They do have a strong BS meter when it comes to the background check, so don't worry about what that bottom feeder you use to work for says. Werner tried that with me, and Marten called them out on it.

I'd trade a day or two getting home late right now for how my last carrier left me (I'm now disabled because their POS rig fell apart, and dead broke).

    Good luck whatever your decision.
