    I believe once they finish their elog transition they will be a much better company. Any company making major changes will run into issues. But yes I understand if you leader a brand new Cascadia, it will definitely take alot of hard work and less home time to succeed in the long run. To be honest my first five years, I avg one month or less hometime a year. Now I am home every weekend and avg 3000 miles a week. I got lucky and was able to get on the regional board.

    Wasn't doing well on miles because I wouldn't drive tired; that's why I ended up leaving. They kept me on the West Coast an awful lot. I didn't get home but that was by choice; I wanted to wait til I could afford to get home. If you can pick up a load at 0100 or 2300 and immediately drive 10 hours, you should be fine. My dispatcher was Ginny Hall and she was good for getting me to yard when I needed to and would have gotten me home if I had asked her to. Just don't expect to get through NC too often as part of your normal driving. I will say the payroll dept got everything right the first time, there were a few times I thought they had screwed up but it turned out to be me not reading the settlements correctly. (Don't hold your breath on any detention)

    A friend I left behind called me yesterday and said the situation had changed; they are not allowing people to leave the yard on paper logs any more, they have accelerated their schedule to update the fleet to E-logs only, and they are hemorrhaging drivers. The result of this will be that they will be unable to force drivers to run outlaw for much longer; scuttlebutt is that they are weeding out the planners and dispatchers who will not toe the line on 500-550miles/day. Drivers who remain have lots of freight to choose from (they are overbooked) and don't have to sit, even in SoCal. I don't know for sure since I'm no longer there.

    I told my friend, who wanted me to come back, that I'm going to try and get back into the car business and will deliver pizza here to make ends meet. (I could earn a bettter living delivering full time than I was at JCT, if I could get the hours)

    I might go back if I were to find a good team driver to help me meet my costs and keep the truck profitable--but the drivers I know who I would trust to drive while I sleep prefer to run solo, like me. Come to think of it I like my personal space and sleeping in my tighty whities:biggrin_25524:

    BTW if you can average 500mi/day (which you should be able to do in your sleep), you can run 7 days without needing a restart and that's 3500mi/wk without doing anything illegal. You can get 3000mi losing a day a week to (UNPAID!!) detention.

    What regional board? I was told there was no regional. Yes Zoom you can drive 3000 miles a week but they only pay for about 2600 of those miles. you need to drive 3200 to 3500 to get a decent paycheck and everybody I've talk to said there only getting about 2500 miles driven a week. Just got dispatched on aload with a p/u in Monette, MO. and Noel, MO, TYSON, UGHHH. Paid miles 1342, actual miles 1440. 100 miles short. P/U's on Fri. delivers Mon in Chandler, AZ. 3 days 447 miles per day. Today is Thurs. 346 miles. Weds 624. Tues. 388. Mon. 383. Sun 628. Sat. 678. Fri. 466. Thurs. 435. if you take all those days and avg them out you get 460 miles a day for 11 days. And those last 8 days were actual miles driven. Almost every load I've been given has been repowered, either 'cause I didn't have enough hrs. or 'cause another driver didn't have enough hours. Past 4 weeks my settlements were for an avg. of 2000 miles. Tyson in Monette and Noel are nightmares. I'll spend all day getting those 2 P/U's done and end up with 200 miles. Somethings got change or they won't have any drivers left.

    Also 3 guys who picked older trucks at orientation have all had breakdown issues. Pretty much brand new Cascadias are your only choice to lease now and they're not given you enough miles too pay for them. And they're hiring tons of new drivers.

    Thanks for your honesty! From all the drivers (present drivers that is) I've talked to with JCT have said that the eLogs have RUINED them! They are all (but 2 I've talked to) losing their butts! Those who have been driving for them for a while are getting "special" treatment me thinks, or are just hoping they're going to get their act together soon. I am so thankful for those of you who were straight forward, that way I didn't make a monumental mistake! Now, understand, I believe JCT to be a good company, they have been pretty honest with me and answered "most" of my questions, and I haven't a doubt that they were a MUCH better company only a few months ago. But now... well... I have my doubts if they can get it together before - like you said - they lose all their drivers.

    Elogs did not ruin them runing legal i ran 590miles on a 60 mph truck on elogs

    So are you guys still running good over there?

    I decided to back off from going to orientation for a bit. I didn't want to jump in and not know for sure that I could bring home at the very minimum $1k per week.
