That's when W2's and a few payroll statements come into play. Many times, unverifiable CDL employment means the applicant is stretching something.
As far as miles wise, though I'm not sure what the difference in skill level between 100k and 120k is, they can be generally made out by those documents as well. A statement will have your rate per mile, and a sampling of accessorials, divide that by yearly income, and you get a general idea of the miles you ran.
If you claim you ran 100,000 miles at .30 cpm, yet your W2 is for $24,000, you got some 'splainin to do.

Actually, it's a DOT requirement.

He was saying as a O/O. He has said it was just him.
Should be enough with record of authority shouldn't it?
Yeah I know they have to verify last ten years of employment. Just the level's to which they take it. A company that likes you just asks" Was he there". Companies they fear your gonna bend their truck check DAC, send two hundred question tests to former employers, ask for the number to ex wives............ -
Actually the feds want you to check an 'unbroken' history back 3 years including accident and drug/alcohol testing. The rules say that you have 30 days to get this information before you are supposed to stop using the driver until the information is provided...
I've never stopped using a guy who's last employer wasn't cooperating.
Using the DOT's Pre-employment Screening Program is supposed to cover this...it shows any accidnents reported to the feds back 5 years and roadside inspections back 3 years...It costs $10.00 a pop, cheaper than DAC was!Tazz Thanks this. -
Like most people I have a laptop in the truck, and I use Excel for a drivers log. I keep track of date, pick up numbers, how much the load pays, pay for hourly items, where I picked up the load and where it was going to, and the mileage. Now I'm a "young" truck driver so I haven't had a lot of experience changing jobs, but I would think that if you printed off a log for what you did for all of last year I would think that it would be hard for anyone to dispute it. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Wisbang. I went and looked your right. Now i have a question.
Why the heck has my last two employers wanted ten dang years??
Oh well going on three years here and no plans on leaving. -
Company acknowledges you drove for them and sends proof = verifiable
You drove an old Transtar cabover hauling hay for your grandfather who has passed away = not so verifiable. -
The one thing Tazz is they dont care if you have drove a truck or not. they want a 10 yr history of all your jobs .. who knows why just more paperwork..lol
