No offense....But in other bizzes..That "friend" of yours would be considered a thief....

But......It's a symbiotic relationship is it not?.....I mean "Cheap" brokers and "Bottom-feeding" carriers go together...And dance their dance....:biggrin_2552:

How does that make him a thief he works on commission He does not deal with cheap frieght. you walk into a Truck dealership tell the salesman I need this truck right now i have got to go pick up a load You think he wont jack the price up to increase his commission. It's all how you approach the salesman/broker you appear and sound despite there going to take advantage of you.

Right....That's why I mentioned the "Symbiotic Relationship"...

However.....Running certain lanes one can get a feel for the rates....
How is it I can run steel plates from the same shipper to the same receiver for "X" amount for several dozen loads and then suddenly "y" amount" is thrown out....Ah....Someone is getting "Piggy"....The loads are the same weight....Same mileage....Fuel has gone up...But the broker has to take more...Why?

Broker's costs don't increase as fast as a carriers....Our costs vary day to day with fuel and those "surprises" from breakdowns and other things....

For the most part I don't care what a broker makes per load if I can make my BEP or better....But I have taken some loads where TTT was $5000 for the load and the broker made $5000.....That's a bit much just for having to make a phone call to a shipper don't you think?....

I mean...I don't know about you....But I can be on hold for a year and not have a $5000 phone bill.....
