BTDT, and it sure is enough to wake you up. Thinking "I wonder who the hell the idiot is driving the overheight," and suddenly realize IT IS YOU. :biggrin_25521: (At least that is what happened to me.

I actually was dragging an overheight. I was way too sick and way too tired to be driving anyway, and way too #### dumb to shut down, apparently. Anyway, after tripping that siren and getting a well deserved arse chewing by Colorado DOT, I got back down the hill and hit a motel for several hours. . .

It turns out my load was way tall....I got up the next morning measured it on level ground and out of the wind....it was 14' 6"......Got permits for UT, AZ, and NV....Commifornia claims it's "Divisible" and it should have gone on a Step....so no permit....So I have to drop in NV and had to cut the rate.....:biggrin_25510:

Thing was...The broker and the shipper claimed the loads would be legal....."Colorado Legal"....:biggrin_2554:

Yeah...I like how AZ says no OD movement on the weekends....Uh....A little secret....You can move through the "Gorge" between 0300-1200 Saturday....Get to St. George P.O.E. by 1100......

The Denver storm looks like it's going to live up to the hype, woke up to a lot of snow and it's still snowing.

Driving in snow is no big deal. Driving on I've sucks a lot though. But seriously, take your time and drive at a comfortable speed. If you feel it's too bad to drive, pull over. You're in control. After a while, because some of us are sick puppies, you'll find it fun to drive in, lol. I do have a warped way of entertaining myself like that.

I don't mind driving in packed snow at all with a decent load.

Now black ice is another story...

Two things I do dislike about driving in the snow....

Moronic 4-Wheelers who think it's safer to slow way down to "Grandma" and, having to wash all sheyat off that the various DOT put down on the ribbon for traction....
