Any Feedback on Metropolitan?

They will can you if you look at Andy Hillick the wrong way. Rick from your orientation is wonderful. Unfortunately, he doesn't have anything to do with you as a driver once you leave unless you have an "Incident" and Safety calls you back in for "Retraining". Watch your ### there. I apparently had an issue with info my rig sent back to the office and it showed me over my 70 hr limit 2 days after leaving orientation, as well as being over my 14 hr limit on an almost constant basis for the entire time that I was with them. Unfortunately, I never saw the reports until after they had canned me and I found a letter they sent me showing me the info. I never had a chance to defend myself. You won't get a chance to defend yourself either. If they get the chance to screw you, they will. Especially Andy HilDICK!!

 

They are always looking for driver's. Sounds like the A-Typical outfit.

About all you really need to know about them is that they have 1 person who's sole job is to pick up newbys coming in for orientation and then to drop off those that get canned at the bus stop. That is his ONLY job. He works full time. I personally think that that alone says all anybody needs to know about the company. Not one of their Dispatchers has ever been behind the wheel of a rig either. I think maybe somebody should have some sort of real world training before being put into a position where others depend on you day in/day out for their livelyhood. They have absolutely no idea what you go through on the road, they have never been there. All they see is in black and white. They have no way to know what obstacles you have in your way each and every day.

 

I've talked to a couple of Metro drivers over the few years that I've driven. They seemed happy with the company. No major complaints. They run the same loads as most other companies that run dry van in the NE. Their pay was too low for me so I never applied to them. My advice to you is to go in with a positive attitude and take every load that they give you and be polite and professional and you shouldn't have a problem.
