Warned, then, Banned

2 places I do not go in forums, religion and politics. Just not a good idea, people have been killing each other for thousands of years over those 2 subjects. It's just asking for trouble.

 

I think you meant to say carbon DIoxide. At least I hope so......unless you are a car.

 

I've read alot of Warvey Hallbanger's posts. I thought overall that he was informative, humorous, outspoken, and occasionally obstinate. But, it's unfortunate that the moderators feel it is necessary to censor free thought/speech on here. We are all appreciative of their efforts to create and maintain this bastion of trucking information and entertainment, but isn't over-regulation and censorship rapant enough in the real world to cause us to want cyberspace to be as unfettered and free as possible. I could see banning him if he launched into hate speech or sexist diatribes, banning. But, arguments, namecalling and general douchebaggery? I'd rather see people banned for continuing to whine and cry about how " this recruiter lied and this company ripped me off after I had 3 unreported crashes, only drove 300 miles a day because of my medical issues blah blah blah, whine btch moan." We're failing as a society BECAUSE the nanny state regulates everything. Stand up, act like adults and take RESPONSIBILITY for the direction and force of your lives. Freeharvey!

i havent read all of harveys posts...but liked what i did read..ALWAYS made me laugh...great sense of humor....i for one would like to see him back....but can think of some i would LIKE TO GO!!!!!!

You and some other folks are completely missing the point...... so, I shall clarify for the sake of clarification.....

This is a private site......owned and operated by one guy.

That guy, let's call him 'Bob', decides what he does and does not want to see or read on his site.
Think of it in these terms.....let's say this was a bar. The owner of this bar decides who he wants to serve.....simple as that. If, in his opinion, having hateful douchbags in his bar makes it a more interesting and entertaining place, then he will welcome them. On the other hand, if 'Bob' decides that having hateful douchbags in his bar will only tend to promote hateful douchbaggery in a world that already has entirely too much of it, then it is his prerogative, as the owner of the bar to tell them to keep it to themselves or leave.

Another thing that a lot of people don't know or understand is that this site is not free......in other words, it costs real money to operate this thing. However, our participation is free......
I don't think it's too much to ask that folks follow some simple rules of civility when they're in someone else's house..... man, that's just good manners.
