Finally, getting back in the truck!

Hello all! I used to drive but got out of the truck about 5 years ago to stay home with the kids. My husband continued to drive (no, we never teamed) and I have been dreaming of the day when the kids were grown and I could go back on the road. I drove for about 8 years before I left and maintained my cdl but I have had a tough time finding someone to hire me without recent experience. I had a road test with a company yesterday and they offered me a job! YAY! Orientation is next wed. and I will head out the following Sunday. Gotta admit, my shifting is a little rough! LOL! They are putting me with a trainer for a week and I am thankful for that. It never hurts to have someone to remind you of all the little things that keep you safe. I realize trucking has changed quite a bit in the last 5 years, but I love a challenge!
