Training o/o for flatbed

    Exactly correct. sometimes the law does NOT make common sense. but you have to know it & abide by it. sometimes you can get a load that you never had before & have to look, think, scratch your head & say to yourself, now how the heck am I going to secure this? I am sure G-man has come across this. sometime you may get coils, many, different sizes, widths, have to be so many inches apart. may have to have wood block between coil & have chains going thru 3-4 coils, then over the top of each one. many different variations of securement.

    Thank you all ... I have decided to stay in the arena that i am most comfortable woth good ol refer freight .... Heard of a company near Grand Rapids say is averaging $1.80 per mile if his doesnt work i am gonna apply for my authority take that class buy a trailer and see if i can move any closer to my retirement goals or the poor house which ever comes first

    A friend of mine from Maverick went to CRST Malone. He said their training is lacking and does not prepare someone to go out and haul coils which can be very dangerous.

    CRST Malone will give you the basics and a handbook to carry in the truck. They won't hold your hand. If you are a quick study, you can learn what you need to know and can always ask other drivers to help.
