I'm scared. I'm very, very scared. One week with a trainer, and off you go? This isn't me bashing you, tayus. I just feel that there is no company that should throw a new driver out there solo after one run with a trainer. 4 weeks, maybe. Preferably 6 weeks. One trip? I'm scared.

However, congrats on doing it all on your own.

I agree theres alot more to know about safe driving then anyone can honestly learn in a week, heck just all the shipping and log papers needs at least a few weeks to do properly. But good luck and congrats on the job, which co is if if u dont mind saying.

That's no different than how Watkins & Shepard . Everyone is different in their abilities . From what I've heard of trainers in other threads the less time with them the better . They spend most of the time in the sleeper and run the trainee all night .

That job would not be pulling Containers by any chance.

Ran with a Newbie last week heading into Montreal that was hired to run a triangle Montreal , NewYork / New Jersey and back to Ontario.

It was scary the questions he was asking on the CB.

Anyhow GOOD luck , keep us posted on your adventures.

At my employer, training is done with the trainer in the passenger seat. Once the newbs' abilities are better, it switches to super single. Then, once the trainer is confident in the new driver, they go team for a few weeks. After that, the new driver is then put on his own.

According to the law a driver is a driver.
You don't need a school to show you how to drive or a trainer.
If you have any common sense you can drive a truck.

If you get nervous at all, at any time.........get out of the truck, collect yourself and say to yourself " This truck can't do anything without me,I drive it". Slow down, breathe and you will be fine.

Good luck in your new career.
    Tell us how it goes.

Your attitude scares me. It truly does.
