Nope, still the same. That brings back memories.

I forgot about the wore out forklifts everyone was too lazy to hook to the chargers. You get a dead lift and try to make it through the whole shift charging a few minutes here and there. Drivers would steal each others lifts. I almost saw a few fights. A big circus. But you did see alot of stuff jury rigged with duct tape and packing tape. -

i dont doubt it,ive seen their operations and from what ive seen they run their operations very bare bones, sort of like a LTL/shady otr hybrid.
if they wont comply with the rules they deserve the fine. -
I work right next to the Central Transport terminal in Indy.........What a sorry looking place. Our terminal and equipment are mostly trash too, but Central Transport is just pathetic looking.

Ive been with them 6 years now. Been a driver for over 14 years. I was one of the first company drivers out of this terminal when it went from O/O to Company. My first day I thought " OMG what the heck did I get myself into." They had old crappy equipment. Freight looked absoulutely horrible!!
I have rode out all the changes they have made... I take pride in my work and my route. Yes, you have to work hard and not just bump a dock...We dont have a big turn over in drivers 80% started with in a year of me. My paycheck has never bounced and I make a pretty #### good living.
What works for some might not work for others.... No matter what company you work for.... You will always find something wrong with it! -
Portland, OR terminal has a great crew to work with witch makes it hard for me to leave. But the hours they are now telling me to work are outrageous in my book. 14hrs a day 5 days a week line haul. Just so they can lay off the few dock workers we have. Minus the crap equipment the work was fine before when we work 10-11 hours and go home the dock workers break the freight. Now after a 10 hour run they want us to break the freight until we hit our 14 hours. However it seems allot of company's are going to this method.
I don't see my wife at all during the week and now I'm working 8+ hours in to my Saturday then I sleep for 8 hours and only really have Sunday off. These hours are one reason I didn't want to be an owner operator. The pay is decent but the hours are breaking down my body and the med benefits (if you can call them benefits) are BS. Me and some other co-workers have started looking for something else. it's the only thing we can really do. I know 70 hours is legal for international freight and it should be a choose if you want to run that hard like OO's but to be forced to work 10hr over half the hours of the 5 day work week in my opinion is unethical.formertaxidriver, CondoCruiser and LostOne9 Thank this. -
