What about the DMV in Indiana issuing CDLs to them who couldn't speak or read English. It seems to me that they should be indicted on some type of charge.

good about time the goverment is playing by there own rules

Back when I took my written test in Indiana there was a DMV person reading the test to another guy. I asked about it She said there was provision in Indiana law to read the test to people who can't read it. No exception for cdl. Don't know if its still that way. Was 2007.

You seem to be inferring that the Indiana DMV issued CDL's to the ones who couldn't speak english...that my friend is a gross assumption.
I for one am glad to see this. I only wish the feds would seize all of the company's equipment and use it to help cover the costs of these drivers not paying income taxes...and then deport them.
Or better yet, take those trucks and sell them cheaply to small time operations and owner-ops who can't afford a lease due to hard economic times. Get people back to work who follow the rules and pay their way in this country.48Packard Thanks this. -
According to the U.S. DOTs out-of-service order, the Indiana State Police found that many of the U & D drivers could not answer basic questions such as where are you going and where are you coming from. In more than one case, ISP told a driver employed by U&D he was out of service and could not leave the inspection area. The driver responded by starting the engine and driving away.http://www.landlinemag.com/Story.aspx?StoryID=22338

What, nobody wants an 80,000 LB semi driven by someone who can't even understand a road sign coming the other way at 70 MPH? :lol
-
Sadly, this a drop in the bucket, but its good to know it is being enforced.

Is this the company that the owner had a file folder on his desk labeled "Not for DOT?"
