When i drove for Swift flatbed divsion i dropped a steel coil at Georgetown Ky at the Toyota plant and within a few minutes recieved my pre-plan for my next load. It was stainless steel plates shipping from North American Stainless in Ghent Ky. Instructions on the Qual-comm said if i couldnt make pickup within an hour (i was an hour and a half away) that i had to call a let them know, which i did. I get fuel at the pilot and head that way. I end up sitting in my truck at NAS waiting for my load for 9 hours. I had no choice but to violate hours of service to get to the nearest truckstop to park for the night.

Par for the course at N.A.S. I always plan to getting my sleep in the staging lot.

Life is full of choices>Park @ NAS, park on the street.
Why is it ALWAYS someone else's fault?double_r Thanks this. -
Couldnt park on the side of the highway

I see people doing all the time. Not sure why unless your broke down but stupid people still do.
-
Well that way they won't get a guy with big, fat, sloppy 6 inch pipes running all night and resonating next to his sleeper. But then you have traffic whizzing by... no rest for the weary.

I have parked at that wide spot on the north side of the road just west of the main truck entrance....not a perfect scenario, but works in a pinch.
