COTC pays you to tarp and for extra stops too plus the cpm. A big plus is they pay 100% for your medical. Opportunities for some bonuses also. Good company to work for if you like to flatbed.

I've seen COTC drivers on the road quite frequently...I can't say I've ever seen them in the ditch....

Hmmm...Sharp looking rigs...They drive safe.....Good rep and, I have yet to see one of them parked at a coop OOS.....

I drive for COTC and have for 12 years. My paycheck stub says I made 52 thousand dollars so far in 2011. They have been good company to myself and my family. We drive good equipment, they are a safe company, i get paid when i expect to get paid. They support my family well, my benefits are good and I would recommend them. If you want to send me your number in a private message, I will be happy to talk to you on the phone.

Only thing is that - that video was shot going down hill...North bound comming into Ashland....
And you can only use the shoulder while climbing the hill.... Not to pass in...

I went to orientation with 7 years flatbead exp. I was the only one in my orientation who had flatbead exp or had ever put chains on! I was not offered a job they said i was to ####y! When I spoke to Renee G. central recruiter I was told .40cpm actually .32cpm plus bonuses mpg bonus starts at 6.5 mpg to get .005 cpm bonus yet they do there fuel stops avg at 5mpg! miles bonus starts at 10500 miles per month and if you get 1 overspead (3 mph over the limit) no safety bonus. Orientation was four days of tarping and securment school. Equipment looks great on the outside but wait till you get on the inside bad not cleaned out at all from prior driver still crumbs on the matress. No new matresses. if you have no flatbead exp go there if you do just go and keep your mout shut they want things done there way not yours! Insurance for your family will also run you 701 green ones.

After 2.5 years at Maverick, I am at .44 a mile. No way would I pull a flatbed for .33 a mile.
With all of my bonuses, I am at over .50 a mile.

That's not true. A driver loses the monthly safety bonus on the 3rd company speed violation for that month. And it only counts as a company violation if they call you and tell you where and when it happened.

My average per mile earnings so far for this year on last friday's check is $.487. That includes mileage, tarp, border crossing, vacation, extra stop, and monthly performance bonuses. Last weeks average was $.465 with out the performance bonuses. I don't think you were lied to about the wages. If you were let go before the end of orientation then you were never extended a job offer so you don't know where your rate would have started out at. .32 is the bottom of the scale.

The family insurance is expensive but if you just need it for yourself you have no premium.

They aren't perfect by any means it is trucking after all but some of what you said simply isn't true.

I am always attracted by the companies that offer free health care for the drivers. But I have always found that when you figure in the premium for the family or just wife, it ends up costing more than what I am paying for now. But like you said, if you do not have any family to cover, it is a good deal.
All in all it looks like a decent company and I wish you all the best!
