Well I got enough range time in and hopefully will be going over to test tomorrow. I am ready to get out of here. I tested on the road portion, pre trip, and 4 point, and now the range. I was pushed over the fence to test on Friday but I was not confident in myself to pass the range test. It's a tough but in the end I will have a Class A CDL and that's my goal.

Good grief two things I saw on here is making me nervous and second guessing my future possible choice in going.

    1. Im 6`3 and 290 lbs but not surprisingly not huge in a gearth way. But seeing about the size 17 neck thing and Im a 18 that would send me home. I would be border line 35 BMI but again Im somewhat tall and my doctor says I carry my weight well.

    2. From what I heard PAM`s trucks are mainly automatics now. If they use stick shift there in Indy, its sad to say on my part Ive never driven a stick shift before or shifted gears.

Ah man this is a huge dagger in the heart!!!!!!

Learning to drive a manual transmission is not hard. Any school worth their salt will teach you.

I sure hope so but man I will fill embarressed to tell the instructor in the truck there, "hey dude can you teach me how to drive stick first" LOL!
I knew this would come back to bite me in the butt some day. Im already behind the rest of the class ~sigh~.

Also there at the school, do you have to share a room with someone at the hotel or do they give you your own room?

Not everyone knows how to drive stick. Id say the majority of non truck drivers don't know how. You want to learn on a manual anyway, if you only know how to drive auto you are limiting your prospective employment options.

You are so right with that statement. Something I need to strongly consider for down the road if trucking is in my future.

Also (dang alot of questions tonight) would I go to the school in Indy first or do you have to head down south to orenitation first?
You have to be cleared from your doctor first also to say you are fit before anything?

And how does one get sponsored to get their hazmat license? I see you need that before you get any PAM bonus.
Also if I dont get in the C1 school before Feb.20th (for your PAM drivers) does that mean I will no longer be qualifed to land that bonus since their sites says $1200 bonus by Feb.20th.

You would go to school first and do your application for PAM at school, once PAM approves your app then you'll be picked up by your driver trainer and then sent for Orientation and more testing.
The only doctor clearance you'll need is if you have sleep apnea, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
