I was promised a job like this right below Binghamton New York, I live 50 miles away but there saying like 160 grand a year? Sounds like an okk deal too me I would drive 50 miles to make that kind of money but then again I've never been paid more then minimum wage soo maybe I see it differently.

joerus42 , not being mean, just letting you know. nobody's posted on this thread for over 3 months. It was one of my favorite threads though. just don't be surprised if you don't get many responses.

Do you own your own truck? If your trying to clear that kind of money working as a company driver....goodluck. We have really slowed down here lately due to gas prices being so low and some companies have pulled out of the marcellus region due to this. You also have ALOT of cut throat morons driving the wages down for all of us, the hourly rate on hauling water has went down ALOT in the past two years...

Oh had a feeling my info was a little too deep. I do not have a truck nor do I plan on purchasing i've also been told owning a truck (maintenance costs, gas costs, etc) is really not worth it anymore? I'm totally new to trucking am going into training on February 20th. Also, heard some good stories about the oil rig industry don't know if that's any different then Marcellus shale?

I work in sw pa, if you are talkin about a semi in pa it doesnt make any sense to use anything but a tri-axle straight truck. You can haul more and get around easier. $80/hr is way too cheap unless maybe you are talking an 80 bbl truck. Fuel expences vary on how far you are hauling the water, if you are bacically runnin the road you are going to burn alot of fuel. Local work like we do for a 12 hr shift we burn between 30 and 50 gal. Drive tires are lasting between 25k and 60k, depends on the driver and the tire. Sand trucks were gettin around $80-85/hr 2 years ago, not sure what they are at now with as many trucks around as there is
