1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Van's get 65% of the linehaul gross, and standard flatbeds get 72%. Soooo.... *pulls out his pushy button*

    Van - .44/mile
    Flatbed - .48/mile

You get ALL the accessorials, so you get .50cpm for fuel and anything for layover, extra stops, tarping, detention, etc.

    Van - .94/mile minimum
    Flatbed - .98/mile minimum

But why drive another mans trk. and he puts you on a 1099?
Why not go the w-2 route?

Too cheap to pay unemployment fees and part of your s.s. and fed. taxes I guess...

Well, that's up to you. Most Landstar owners pay 25%. They will do a W-2 for ya. You do the math. He does pay for occupational health insurance. No employer pays part of your fed. taxes.

Also, I have been getting a lot of PM's with questions. I am not the one hiring. If you have questions, call the number.

Yep, deduct about 40% off whatever you get to cover self employment and other tax liabilities.

A driver gets his cut of the gross. What the load pays. FSC is added after that. A driver doesn't get any of that. It's strictly a fuel reimbursement for the OO.

Maybe the OP is trying his hand at recruiting!

No recruiter worth(less) of his salt can tell the straight story! Let alone understand the story being told!:biggrin_25513:

Alright So here is the deal I called the Man who is Hiring,
He is straight forward, With Landstar he gets 72%, plus FSC. .50 right now, So if you have a load that pays 2.00 a mile he gets 1.44 + FSC, 1.94 he is paying you on that at 34% which is .65 per miles. Wrong After fuel lol I ain't the brightest bulb in the bunch but it sounded to good to be true...

No. He gets 67% of 98% of the gross. You get 34% of that. But I have made it simple. It works out that you get 22.3% of the gross line haul. So a load paying $2.50 with .50 of that as FSC would pay you 44.6 cents.

    skinz1234 Thanks this.
