thanks for your info. now others with same prob can look there. when you say you put on 2nd breather tube, what do you mean ? do you mean the tube that runs down from your oil pan ? did you put another breather tube & now have 2 breather tubes? or replaced the old one? -
I'm guessing he installed a second breather tube and a different valve cover with a breather in it. I have been thinking about doing this myself since my blowby has so much oil in it and I if I really lean on the motor I can pop the dipstick out.

since i increased my turbo boost so much the original breather wasnt big enough it was causing a vacum i installed a valve cover breather along with the side breather and havent used a single drop of oil since.

superhauler, what type of pistons did you use when you overhauled? were they steel skirt/steel crown or were they steel skirt with an aluminum crown?
-
You can get blow by from the turbo its self. they will leak boost air into the crankcase. You can pressurize, the compressor housing with 10 lbs and if it bypasses, then you have found the problem. You can get boost preasure past the valve seals, it will only suck in oil at idle, above idle you have boost preasure. Just a thought!

steel crown alum skirt with heavyhaul top piston ring

I have detroit s60 is normal burn 1oil gallons after 7,000 mile

Get your foot out of it hot rod!! Haha.
usually they leak, it not burn it! -
after i got my pete with a bxs c15, one of the first things the dealer did was add a second breather tube. i took it in for something else that was needing fixed so they decided to do that also.
