Anybody seen the new, 2012 large scale trucker atlas anywhere around the US? We've looked and looked and can't find a t/s anywhere that sells it. All we've ever found is the deluxe atlas, with the laminated paper pages.

Not that we need the bigger print, but it does make it easier when looking at big cities and the solid plastic pages are pretty stout.

They quit making them in the large scale.

Hmmm, wonder why. Such a good map. A lot stronger than the deluxe version. Oh well.

I believe you can get a 2010 from places like Amazon, I don't believe they had any 2011s, either.

Yeah, I noticed that, but I was wanting a 2012 for all the updated state and federal regulations, not just map changes.

Oh well, guess the plain-jane paper atlas is what I'll settle for and keep my 2010 large scale for a few more years.

I looked for one, too, I needed a new one after I started back OTR in 2010. If you have a 2010 large scale, that is as new a large scale Rand McNally as there is.

I have a 2011 deluxe, it is laminated, the large scale is coated, and is not as durable. Laminating twice the pages would make a large scale too heavy and bulky.

Remember to read signs and ask if there is any question on routing; just because it's in the atlas doesn't mean things are still the same or that the atlas is right.

I wonder why they quit making the large scale trucker map. They still make a large scale "four-wheeler" atlas according to rand Mcnallys website however, I'm not sure if its printed on plastic pages like the trucker map was on a spiral binder.

My 2010 large-scale isn't laminated. As I said, the pages are made of plastic sheets. That's what's makin it so durable. The laminated paper cover is ripped in a few places but all the pages are still intact. Even the ones that have been accidentally folded as It's been shoved in the seat pocket the wrong way.....

Oh, if I'm ever in any doubt about whether or not a road exists or not or if its recently been changed, I refer to my Google maps app as its updated on a regular basis.

I still use the map even tho ive got a gps.
a gps just like the map is only a tool. not a written in stone truth for direction.

way to people have depended on the gps to get them somewhere and ended up running into a bridge or going the wrong way on a one way road, and yes even killed someone after crashing into them.
    just do a forum search.
