Are the trucks STILL equiped with cassette players instead of CD players ? I have not owned a cass. for ...I dont even remeber. I will buy my own Cd player, but just wondered if they had ever decided to get more up to date and that the websites had just not changed that. Could be worse....could be 8 tracks.

Some have cassettes, some have CD players, and some have just AM/FM... or the worse.. plain AM. I haven't seen a plain AM radio in a looong time though.

How about Scheinder trucks ?

Your showing your age mentioning 8 tracks. I hate to admit that I still have a couple hundred out in shop that I swear I am going to put on cd someday. Right along side all the other projects I need to get on.

I can vouch that the ex's 2005 Freightliner has a cassette deck in it. I had to make lots of tapes before he went out on the road. And he bought one of those little adapters that use plug into a portable CD player and run it through the cassette.

Looks like another expense before i get started then. Got my eye on a very slim 3 disk player. Got tohave a cd player.

If your truck has a fm radio but does not have a CD player, you might want to invest in a FM transmitter. Just plug it to your favorite media player (CD Player, iPod, etc) and plug the other end to a cigarette lighter, tune in your fm radio at a set frequency as the fm transmitter and viola! You can play anything from CD's, MP3's, heck even your laptop computer on the radio.

Also you can buy a cassette adapter that turns your cassette player into a cd player. The adapter looks like a cassette. Simply plug in the cassette into the player, other end into the cd player and *poof* ya got tunes of all sorts. You can find these at Walmart for $10. I have one in my car.
almost forgot. it works for Ipods too. We had bought our adapter so we could hook my daughters Ipod up in my Jeep.
