Very Good Point - also remember that when you have to "jack" your trailer that hard where the reflector is hidden, the trailer will go deeper in prior to straightening back out. So that's when people get into trouble. Only time and many tight back in's will enable you to know when it's "enough"! -
Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you. What a day. 11 hours 5 minutes drivetime and lost about an hour and 45 minutes in distance.I was headed from Rochester to Atlanta. Had my route, got loaded and made it just outside of Pittsburgh. Headed out the next day and I was goona stop in Knoxville. I have been trying to work my hours for maximum potential with no resets. Well I looked at the gps route and it matched mine for a bit so off I go. After about 3 hours out I check for my knoxville stop it is not on my route, hmm, ok they are calling for snow so I will push on south. I end up taking 19 to 23. Smack Dab through the Appalachian and Smokey and who knows what other mountains. Beautiful Scenery, tough slow driving. No fuel stops, no rest areas. But I saw a million tourist stops. Would have been a great minivan trip. I ended up in a vacant lot. Disaster of a day! Great Learning process. Seems I always have taken the "hard knocks" route of learning. But it sticks with you. That New River Bridge in West Va is awesome. Whitewater rafting is definitely on my bucket list.

Just curious was it an extra stop in Knoxville or was there where you were planning on getting fuel at? Also what was your route from Rochester to Atlanta? -
It's all a learning experience. At least you got to see some great scenery and practice your mountain driving skills!

Sorry, my bad it was Buffalo. 90,79,77,81,75. Talk some route choices please. It would be interesting and enlightening conversation, Thanks for any input. -
i believe you forgot RT-19, unless you took a very long out of route, RT-79 exit 57 , US 19 will take you to beckley at RT-77 used to be a nasty 2 lane but now nice 4 lane and alot shorter
MojoPotatoe Thanks this. -
As discussed with Dave, whether Rochester or Buffalo....the best route in our opinions(and your GPS should have shown this) is 90-71-75 all the way to ATL. Most practical and quickest.
biker dave and MojoPotatoe Thank this. -
