Well I tell you what, this is much better than I had it at KLLM. Miles could be better but I'm home every weekend and I was fortunate to use someone's truck who's out for a while. I can't complain. Yet.

My only other trucking experience was with Swift, so Averitt is HEAVEN in comparison. I am still loving it.

I got dropped off at our Macon yard to pick up my truck. I was astonished when my FM told me on the phone I had a 2012 Volvo waiting on me. It is nice. Just under 90K miles on it. I am a happy camper.

Was dispatched to Lithonia Springs, GA to pick up and have a two stop load going to NC. Now that I have broadband internet I will update more often.

I know each person has their own experience, but mine with Averitt thus far does nothing but make me want to stay with them. Period.

Yeah, and you Chattanooga guys have reserved parking spaces. I'm jealous.

well i came aboard in orientation last week. got my truck last night and ran my first load today. well 2 loads. shutting it down here at the consignee lot for delivery in the morning. this company seems to be a cut above the rest for sure. one thing i noticed - the miles are real close. most companies short you some on paid miles but i literally drove within 10 miles of what i was paid for. sweet deal

Welcome aboard! Glad things are going well for you.

You are right about the miles. I actually had a load today where they said my empty miles were 25 and it was 5 miles from the customer to the yard. That is cool because it doesn't happen very often

Today was one of "those" days. It took almost 4 hours to get a comcheck approval for lumper pay. They had me unloaded in 20 minutes and I sat for another 3 and a half waiting on approval. My FM did get me detention without me asking for it which was nice. Then I got 2 loads stacked for a total of over 500 miles. Well, the relay I ran first got messed up and a drop and hook took over 90 minutes so my hours for the second run were pretty much shot unless they didn't mind me delivering over 6 hours late. So, they took the second load off of me.

Here I sit in Charlotte at the yard with a 25 mile load to start the day but my FM said he is sure I will get a good size load after that. Plus the showers aren't working here because they are redoing the building. UGH. So it goes. That is truck driving. I hope tomorrow gets me more than 155 miles and none of the circumstances that made today so bad.

Yes, we do. Oh, and I will taunt you about that. LOL
Great talking to you today. Happy birthday, Mustang.

BTW, I did see your sweet ride at the Augusta yard. Nice.

Much better day yesterday. Drove almost 600 miles. Ended up relaying my load at Indy for a guy headed toward Chicago for home time. Now I am tucked nicely in a truck stop waiting for my move toward home. Not a bad first week.

Sometimes they are are, sometimes not so good.

One thing you can count on though; when you run an LTL shuttle, they always pay gate to gate on the money.

I wish I had known that was going to happen so I could have directed you to that outstanding Mexican restaurant. Also a good Chinese place next door. Maybe next time.

I just got got home a little while ago(Sunday night). Major snow delay starting at last customer where it was so slick it took me about half an hour backing up the hill to the dock followed by playing ice road trucker all the way into Indiana where I finally gave it up just before midnight after only covering 369 miles in a 12 hour workday.

But I made it home in one piece. I shouldn't fuss too much since I'm still home for three nights. Just spoiled usually getting home Saturday night. Spring will be here soon enough.

This is the same dock three weeks ago. I slipped a little bit then but this week was way worse. My customer in Zeeland has heated concrete at their dock which is way cool.
