Another fun day delivering in down town Chicago.

 

Try one of these. It has 5 axle steering. Had one of these in afghanistan. That thing could turn on a dime and it felt like a Cadillac from the air ride. Thing would get up and go to!

 

What were you delivering down there and where to?

 

Those if I remember right were 87 footers. I think that building was going to be a steel warehouse. But we do schools, casinos, and smaller retail shops.

 

Bar Joist. (steel trusses) I can't remember what that job was. We take a lot of bar joist loads into Chicago. They can be a pain, but pay decent

 

My brother is an Iron Worker in the Local 1. Would not surprise me if you have delivered to a site he is on before.

I wouldn't even have tried unless they could block it up at least as high as the landing gear.

 

Yeah, that's about the worst way I've ever seen anything loaded. At least the landing gear is close to the drives so you would need an extremely drastic change in terrain to even make the landing gear drag. The truss' lowest point is in the center of the trailer making it even easier to drag. My RGNs look like they probably have twice the ground clearance in the center of the trailer compared to how those trusses are loaded.

That load should have never left the yard like that.
