Yep...didn't beat the snow. It slammed in to me just N. of I40 on US270. Everything was going good until I crested a hill, and about 30 vehicles were off in the ditch and spun around including another Steven's truck sitting in the ditch. I stop to wait for the cars in front of me (who were now also slipping and sliding everywhere) to climb the hill ahead of me. I set the tractor brake and jumped out to stretch because at this point, I'm not moving until they come plow/salt the road. I turn around to see my truck sliding down the hillI jump back in and set the trailer brakes...which stopped my slide that would have ended in a jackknife. About 45 minutes later, the plow arrives and does his thing. I figure "here goes nothing" and start to go...except I didn't go anywhere...trailer brakes froze.
Long story short. I banged on them for awhile and they finally let go. The sad thing was that my 'plan B' stop for the night was 5 miles up the road in Sealing. I'm there now. I woke up to 50 mph winds and blowing snow. Not going anywhere for a bit. It's supposed to clear up today, so we'll see what happens.

Do you have enough clean underwear to finish the trip?
Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
Now that's some funny stuff. That's all except the frozen brakes. Have a good day. Really glad all worked out well.

That has nothing to do with what I posted. Nothing.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.

Well I got to Denver just fine. I left Seiling in not so great conditions (blowing snow, snow packed roads, 30mph+ winds,) Got 5 miles up the road, and the roads were completely dry with barely a dusting on the grass. 20 miles up the road, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky...absolutely beautiful day! Gotta love it!!
Another thing you have to love are these security guards. I get to final this am, and there is this female (I think) security guard that looks like she stopped halfway thru her sex change operation cussing up a storm and talking on the phone about how truck drivers are gross, ugly, and disgusting. I couldn't happen to chuckle at the fact that she/he must have not looked in a mirror recently.
Get this load off my back, and then probably back to KS for a meat load. -
I'd have pushed until I found a fart just for her office......Jarhed1964 Thanks this.

The fact is that the contract states you will be charged for expendables and damage to the truck. Awesome, as any reasonable person can understand that!
Itbdoes not state that they will peep your maintenance account and base charges around that. It "seems" like this is the practice.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
Let's keep a level of civility around here.

It seems that is what they do. Have to remeber they are not reasonable people.
