Tarping systems

Drag is worse compared to an empty flat, but compared to a flat with anything that catches the wind it's better. I haul lots of stuff that would make some pretty dirty air.

I don't have much issue from any "sail" effect. It was worse with the Roll Tite as the kit would start to take on a banana shape in high winds. The Quick Draw stays much straighter due to the tighter tarp. Yeah, a flat is better in a crosswind, but the price tag is a much bigger disincentive.

Like I said, a covered wagon or a flat like Jfaulk has is what rules the roost up here in the steel belt. I'm just going with a step to get things caught back up and some cushion in the bank. Then I can start looking at something fancy LOL

 

I misunderstood the problem. You could run with a container under the tarp as long as you have the roll past option. The tarp would only take up 10' of the bottom deck if you were going to run with it open (because of the turning issue.

Pfuse what is that spread set at 45'? No offense but the back half of that trailer is about worthless isn't it...?
