    Jim,

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. I'm always interested in learning how to run a profitable business. After all, that's what we're here to do, right? Obviously more is better, but just as long as I bring home $1k a week, everyone at home will be happy campers and I don't allow myself to get ripped in the process... lol

    Thanks again,

    Jason

My truck came governed at the fleet speed but there was no issue removing it from the computer. That being said, I don't normally operate my truck anywhere near the top speed of the rest of the fleet but I do like the flexibility as I come up on a long, steep grade to put my foot in it.

    Good luck,

    Jim

Completed orientation today with Hill Brothers. So far appears to be an excellent company that cares about its drivers and takes care of the equipment. It has been refreshing to actually deal with people that are honest, caring and respectful.

The hotel has been fantastic (one person to a room) and the meals that were provided were excellent.

I definetly recommend them to others that are interested. For those that state that they were unfairly treated in orientation, I believe that there is more to the story than what is being told. I base this on the fact that I have personally met the players and experienced the disposition that they hold. Everyone is very polite, down to earth and never come across as being better than you. However, I would offer that they do a thorough background check. So if you have any questionable background experiences, you would be better served to address those issues with a recruiter prior to attending orientation. It may save you alot of frustration.

Yeah they got rid of the crook when they threw Jim Hill out and he went and got into bed with that crook Gary Wills at the former Merit Transportation.....

I am looking at Hill Bros...being in Lincoln, it has it's merits being pretty much local to the HQ. Planning on running team with a friend for a while then we'll re-evaluate. They run mostly Volvo's? Never really said earlier in this thread what the trucks were governed at, so I am curious about that. Not that any of that wold be any sort of deal breaker. The earlier post about the team running Omaha-Denver-Dallas circle sort of has me worried, I would like some more variety. What is their insurance like? Anyone got some recent info on Hill Bros.?

The teams seem to get on that loop and run hard. I believe the new company trucks are 65 mph the older ones vary between 68 and 72. Very basic insurance as I remember. Been awhile since I was a company driver. I do know teams also run to west coast on occasion. I have my own trk and don't really pay attention to what lanes the company drivers run on a regular basis. Overall a very good company. COMMUNICATION,COMMUNICATION and hard work are the key to being successful here. Miles are here if you want them
