    Sounds like co-brokering to me.

Every broker agreement I've ever signed said '' NO double brokering''. It means if you took the load it has to go on your truck. Not take apiece and send it down the line.

loads are passed around so much anymore that the O/o that hauls the load is lucky if they get 30% of what the customer actually paid, just a few year ago HB 2910 was introduced and immediately the Brokers got together to kill that bill as it would have shown what the gross the customers actually paid would have had to be shown, I would imagine there was a LOT of brokers that had many a sleepless night worried about getting tarred and feathered it that bill actually became law.

if truckers could come together just half as well as the brokers did we ALL would benefit.

Last I knew there wasn't an ooida or union for freight brokers...

  6. Sure there is, and they spend plenty on lobbying. The Transportation Intermediaries Association. Just about EVERY business has a trade association to spread money around Washington. Freight brokers aren't any different.

i followed HB 2910 very closely and remember quite well how FAST the brokers came together, I can't find it anymore but I watched the committee hearings and the brokers against HB 2910 were almost rabid in their hatred of that bill.
There was something similar to it that did pass concerning government, [or maybe it was just military loads] only I don't haul government loads so I am not sure what became of it.

If the true cost of these loads were known we all know that prices to the trucks would rise, I could care less if they were passed around the net 4,5,6 times but trueful information and honest business dealings would not only benefit the owner operators with the ability to make informed decisions, but also the companies paying the high cost of shipping their products, and by inference the people of this country as a whole in the form of reduced prices for what they buy.
Greed in this country is a large part of why we are in the shape we are in and the brokerage system in trucking is a prime example of that

You are talking about agreements between you and broker to move a load. It is common for me to talk to a shipper and am told they have agreement with a broker but would agree to allow us to also broker the loads via that broker. With the exception of one account, the broker has not been willing to negotiate what they take so it wouldn't work. Fine, I now know the date the agreement is up and stay in contact with customer.

So since no-one else is going to ask the obvious here.... why did you take the load thru Landstar and not the other place you saw it for more money???
