That has to be windchill, I've been watching the weather up that way this week and the coldest ambient temp I've seen was -33F in Saskatchewan.

Do you still need owner operators to pull your trailers? We have been driving in ND, but we have 2 trucks without trailers and would like to put them to work. Thanks!

I am sorry for just replying, have been extremely busy & not much time 4 internet. He started with a company in Minnesota, but was very slow, 20hrs 1 week & the same the following week then the belly dump broke down. He aborted that company and is looking in some other leads. Was told this time of the year is very slow

I have recenlty started my own company originally a snow removal business. but as everyone know's there is no snow in Williston ND right now; and doesnt look like any is coming for a while. I have purchased a tandem axle dump truck that hauls 12 yrds. I am looking for work hauling anything from soil to scoria to gravel. If anyone has any information as to who is looking to hire dump truck please let me know Thanks

Just to give you an update on work, it's very slow, lots of water tankers are parked, also belly dumps and there are few crude oil tanks running. If you have your own oil tanks you can get on with some companies, but most of them are not hiring. A word of caution for owner operators, you must have wetline installed on your truck in order to haul certain tanks and it's much cheaper to have it done before going to ND. My husband got a water tank, only to find out they are not hauling water at this time, but if he has a crude oil tanker he can get work. Crude oil tanks are more expensive than water, you can find a half way decent crude oil tank for about $70,000.00. Good luck. Before you leave home to find work as an owner operator make sure you do your home work. The work is there but it is costly to get started.

I agree with this post. It's really slow now ...100's of water trucks just sitting in N.D , But if you have an oil tanker you can work year round. Fact is they probably slowdown down because they have more oil then they can move. It's a bottle neck.
